High school seniors are looking for something different in 2022! They are telling me that they can do 'Elevated Snapshots' by themselves with their IPHONE!... Soooo when Max asked me to make his Heirloom Senior Portraits, together we worked out the story that should be told. The goal is to make photographs that no one else can do!
Max is a real personality and a character who loves music and his guitar... Here are several of the selected Portraits from our session. These images are the most important photographs a high school senior will have made to chronicle this important time in their lifes.

EXECUTIVE PORTRAITS! ... That are truly different from the old standard boring headshots!
I feel that a comtemporary business portraits should tell something about the subject.... Creating an Heirloom Personality Portrait like these of Dave is important. I feel that each Portrait that I make really is 'The most important Photograph you'll have taken for a long time'.
Dave is a True Sedona Influential who serves as the Chairman of the Sedona Fire District. He is the past President of the Broken Arrow Civic Improvement Association.
Dave can use these Business Portraits in a variety of ways... these days many people need great images for their Personal, Professional, Social Media, Website, and other uses.

The Moods of Tara! I love making High School Senior Portraits that really depict the unique personalities of Contemporary Senior Students. These are just two of the interesting Heirloom Images that were created for Tara. She selected an album of her favorites, and there were many! I feel each of the images really do show different aspects of her character.
For me the most important key to making these Photographs, is time spent prior to the Portrait session... In this consultation we get to know each other and discover the really important aspects of their life that mean something to them. Then including these elements in the Portraits becomes the 'Art' of making a timeless Photograph.

Peter the Fishmonger! I love fish and eat a lot of it... so having a local fresh fish supplier has always been important... This man, Peter, is a gem! Such a local personality and character. Making a business Personality Portrait is always a fun challenge... and depicting the subject in a way that tells a story about their profession is the artistic challenge... I love this Portrait.... it captures the cheeky character and at the same time the profession of my subject Peter. The photos below show 1. An Heirloom Personality Portrait is designed to bring out the Character, Charm and Beauty of the subject. This portrait of Jeremy is a true study in Character! He is an actor, and this image was made on a movie set. I was honored to have a role in the movie that was made on an old western set... and as you know there is a lot of time waiting when making a movie! So in between 'takes' I made this Heirloom Portrait of Jeremy.
I love the gritty, almost dusty western look that I was able to infuse into this one.. the choice of clothing and the props tell the 'story'.
Who ever my portrait subject is, I feel it is important to take the time to learn about the personality of the person... let's include props, clothing, backgrounds and other people to complete the photograph that will live as a lasting memory of a moment in time.

Terrie Frankel is truly a Sedona Influential! This portrait of her was the first image I created for the 'Sedona Influentials' Gallery. I love this Personality Portrait of her as it really caputures the Spirit of this fantastic woman... she is such a contributor to ALL THINGS Sedona... involved in many projects and groups that make a great difference to our community. During our Pre Portrait Consultation I discovered the idea to include the American Flag and the Western Hat! Those elements really do add to the character of this Heirloom Portrait. Terrie is a one of a kind, and truly gives her heart to Sedona.

A Man and His Horse! This is one of my favorite images of the year... it is of Cowboy Jim and his friend. Making this beautiful image was such a pleasure and I love how it captures the late afternoon light on both Jim and his horse... capturing a moment in time and a relationship between man and horse.
